GATEWAY TO OLIVES

Olives must have been the first food my mum gave me (ok, probably not the first, but I’ve been eating them for as long as I can remember). My grandmother had an olive tree at her home in Western Sydney, and she would pick them and cure them for us. The oriental arch framing the potted olive tree connects me to her youth.
