In the lead up to my brother‘s wedding - a milestone event mum couldn’t attend - I found myself drawn to the plum blossom. Perhaps it was because my brother was heading to Japan for his honeymoon. Or perhaps because of their incredible resistance and endurance - blooming in the coldest time of the year. They are symbolic of strength and hope - just what I needed for such a beautiful and emotional impending event.
This painting captures just that—two bloomed plum blossoms and two buds not ready to open, set against a warm dark blue background that makes them pop with love and warmth. A reminder of the resilience and strength within to get us through special but sometimes challenging occasions.
